This page is a place to add any hints and tips on using this Wiki. If you do something neat, or have a good idea about how we should be using this, just add it below.
Remember, it never hurts to state the obvious. If you had trouble working out how to do something, others may be having the same difficulty!
Editing pages is simple. Just hit the Edit Page button and you will find yourself on a new page where the text is presented in an editing window. This isn’t a WYSIWYG editor, but it does have a set of buttons to handle all of the formatting for you. These allow you to do the following:
files that will be included as links simple.xls in the wikiThe format is a simple text based representation, which can look a little confusing. However, at any time you can get a Preview of the finished result as you go along.
When you are finished with your editing, just hit Save (or Cancel if you want to abandon the changes).
The system locks pages that you are editing so that no-one else can change them at the same time, so don’t just navigate away from the edit page without hitting either Save or Cancel. If you do, other people will have to wait for the lock to timeout before they can change the page.

To delete a page, simply remove all of its content. You can then remove links to it. The system will automatically tidy up empty pages.

When you hit the Add images and other files button
you are presented with a dialog box which has parts. In the upper half is a list of documents which have been uploaded into the wiki, and in the lower half you can broswe your own computer and select an additional file to upload.
After you have selectd a file to upload, hit the Upload button. The file will now be uploaded and added into the top half of the dialog. To add it to the page, select the file name in the upper half of the dialog.
Remember, you can (and should) use namespaces to organize your uploaded images and other files. This will help to stop you having to work with long lists of files. You should normally use the current namespace when uploding files by making the wikiname namespace:filename. If you are working with different types of file, you may want to use additional namespaces, e.g. namespace:images:picture.jpg

It is possible to create eye-catching notes in 4 seperate styles. Each has its own background color and accompanying icon.
Notes are enclosed between <note style> .... </note> tags, where style is one of classic, important, warning, or tip.
The 4 styles look like this:
A note in classic style
A note in important style
A note in warning style
A note in tip style
